This is very rough transcript from the You Tube video on the Street Bishops Channel
The first one is up. Begin with the end in mind. Begin with the end in month. I’ve spoken about this before our mission is the work at the work that our activity of what we’re doing it is isn’t understood backdrop of being a Christian. At leading others to know Christ is just an accepted. That’s just the way it is. That’s why we do what we do Because we feel the impact of Christ in our life and we want to provide the opportunities for others to see us being Christians. Then they can ask about it and we can share right, so the mission of the ministry is serving the people.
And through that will do, what is just the unspoken known is leading people to know Christ to our actions. We are Christ. Like leading them to want to be Christ like and he will share with them how they can come to know Jesus accept the Lord as their personal savior. But the mission of the ministry is to serve the people right to try to make a distinction between the two as the mission is to serve the people. We want to begin with the end in mind.

Relationship. Relationship Relationship is the goal. Because. Through our relationship with those who we serve, they will see Christ in action and we can share with them in a way that they can hear it. We will be able to share with them in a way they can hear it about coming to know Jesus. So in everything you do remember that relationship is what you’re doing. Whether you’re feeding them taking care of their children, giving them a ride to the hospital or the pharmacy. You know Praying with them in the hospital. Everything you do is about developing relationship, and then through that relationship they see with someone how someone acts that has Christ in their life. Begin with the end in mind. It’s about relationships, so they can see Christ in action. So just remember that no matter what you’re doing, because sometimes we get caught up in what we’re doing the counseling, and all the things we’re doing. We get caught up in that and we forget that the that the true, but where the rubber meets the road is in our relationship with that individual and them seeing Christ in us. Okay, the second one is the second habit is delegating tasks and not feeling like you have to control everything.
Being a leader is not about control Been a leader’s about being wise and knowing which things to delegate, and how to turn over control while you’re still the leader now. We don’t want to give all the control over some ministry leaders get run over by their members and sometimes get put out by their members. See want to maintain your position of leadership, but that doesn’t mean you have to control everything you will earn your respect. You’ll earn your leadership when they see that you’re wise and how you delegate, and how you practice a chrysler life towards them and towards the ministry. We all sweat to know when to say no. When you need to also know when to say goodbye, But you know delegate your tasks so that you don’t get worn out delegate, but you’re still going to maintain control, but not as in control in each person. Just it’s an overall control you have when you have a presence as a leader and you’re delegating and you’re being wise and you’re acting with greats, okay and is because. When you’re absent from your ministry, things can get away from you.

If you’re going to engage in ministry. Especially if it’s a more complex ministry with many moving parts and lots of people. You need to be present. You need to be present. You need to be in touch with what’s going on in your ministry. He’d had an ear to the tracks to hear what’s being said. We need to be reading the after action reports of each activity. You need to be speaking to your volunteers. To not be long conversations. Just you’re touching base. You’re really engaged. You need to be present. You cannot run a successful ministry. If your minds off doing something else. Some you know you. You hit your mind has to be in it. Your attention has to be in it.
Now you can have people running parts of it and delegating to do and all that, but that doesn’t mean that you turn away and go fishing. It just means that other people write other parts and you can be at the higher level to analyze what’s going on, but a lot of time reading the after after action reports updating your best practices doing those upper level management activities. You know, Don’t your job is at the top. Once you have people working for your job is to raise money to be speaking to potential donors.
And so, but even though you’re doing all the you know, you may be off talking to donors, but that doesn’t mean you’re not watching what’s going on at the ministry. You must be present with your ministry. You must be engaged. Right. That’s an important habit of a successful ministry.
Another one of your habits is to gather as many ideas as you can, and as I said, you’ll always see the hold up at yellow padthe younger ideas.
They may not be ideas that you use that day that week that month. Maybe it’s not until next year. Maybe it’s not at all but gather as many ideas as you can when somebody comes to you with a suggestion. Pull out your yellow pad and write down the suggestion. It may be something you never consider doing in the way that they describe it, But you’re right it down. Someone has a criticism. Write it down. This person said that this was a problem, or I should do this different or what you write down their criticism. It doesn’t mean you need to own it. It doesn’t mean you need to adopted. It doesn’t mean that that criticism needs to change what you’re doing, but you need to write this stuff down, Because when you write stuff down, you consider it criticism should be considered because you know where there’s smoke. There may be fire, and if someone says that something needs to be changed, maybe not the way they set, but you could learn something from it and maybe make a tweak Okay so. Take ideas. Take criticism.
Write this stuff down again. You don’t have to own it. You don’t have to wear it, which, but you want to have information there. Because the more information you have coming in, the, the more you have an opportunity to get an idea to take a little bit Christmassy, you know when I’m gonna try harder on that or maybe well, maybe we’ll do a little bit of a change to our standard procedure. Because of some of the criticism more, Hey, this piece of criticism came four times so. If something’s going on here, a one off as a one off two times, maybe three times you need to take a look at that criticism,
But take your ideas. You can be a leader. You can be in control. You can be delegating. They can be giving you back ideas. They’re not going to run your ministry. They’re not going to alter your ministry. You’re the one who does that cause you’re the leader, but the ideas coming up from down below are valuable valuable valuable information. To make sure you take ideas, you take criticism and you write all that down so that then you can implement what you want or you can see evidence overtime. Okay, That’s a good habit of good ministry,
The last thing number five here and I’m going to say Pray now. We all pray. I want you to make it a part of your ministry habit. Pray it the beginning of a conversation. Pray it the beginning of a meeting. Pray before you start an activity. Pray when your finished the activity. Pray When you’re planning for the next to you. Do you need to close your eyes and go to the Lord.

And I think what you need to be asking is one saying only because the Lord already given you everything. Whether you’ve woken up to it or not. As you move from the beginning of time. Everything was given perfectly and completely. We never have to ask for anything because it’s all been given, but when we’re when we’re in prayer, and we’re asking the Lord for this one thing, I think we’re asking ourselves in the presence of the Lord were asking ourselves. In the presence of the Lord, let me be like you. Lord, let me be like you. We can get a lot of things wrong. In terms of what we do. There’s of things, but I’m going to say wrong with things we could do better rang when we seek to be more like Christ were always right.
That’s one thing that you can that you’re always right. As long as you were doing the best you know how to walk like christ, you’re right and I don’t use that word very often right right wrong. I don’t have much use for what you are doing it. Right. You are asking for the right thing and you’re really asking yourself, but you’re asking yourself in the presence of the Lord. Let me be more like Eugene. Because when you say that one statement, nothing else needs to be said nothing nothing because if you’re asking to be more like the Lord. If you’re asked him to walk more like Christ. You were doing it. All everything else is window dressing, and everything else will fall into place. Everything else will fall into place.
If you’re walking as Christ walked, Whatever goes down. Goes down and it’s the best you can do when it’s the best it’ll bay, and you just do your best to keep notes. Do your ministry more, but it’s all about that prayer. Lord, let me be more like you off. When the group Lord let us beat, Let us walk more like you let us be like you. Lord, Let us wash the feet of others. Lord, Let us humble ourselves to others. Aren’t as you did let us be like you. That is our only request of you. Let us be more like you. Because, quite frankly when you’re when we’re more like Christ. Everything will fall into place. We will have grace. We will have wisdom. We will have the resources of God flowing towards us.
All we have to do is pray and ask to be more like Christ. I hope this video series has helped you, and I hope these five habits I describe here will bless you.
